Inter County Office Furniture was formed in 1986 as a family partnership starting life as a simple supplier of office furniture, but was differentiated in the market place by a passionate commitment to quality of service. Furniture was delivered using our own fleet of vehicles - a practice that is continued today - to ensure a fast and reliable delivery service.
The route to market was a mail order catalogue which over the years has remained a core source of our business but we now also have a full internal / External sales team which cover London, South East and up to the Midlands who provide full support to our all our Clients. The other successful parts of the Inter County Sales is Local Authorities, Schools, Universities, Banks, Government Departments and many commercial organisations, having gained a reputation for excellent service and strong reliable products we have over the years been selected to service and maintain many Local Government / Private Furniture Contracts.
In 1989 it was decided that in order to effectively manage the quality of product as well as the quality of service, Manufacturing was brought in-house along with Design and Development in doing this we invested in the latest state-of-the-art computer controlled machinery. This allowed Inter County complete control of all aspects of its products from Desks and Storage which we could sell with confidence whilst offering an full 8 year guarantee as standard.
In 1994 the design, development and manufacture of seating too was established and moved in house and once again it allowed us to offer an 8 year guarantee.
In 1995 we then developed our own Range of Desk and Floor Standing screens which enhanced our range even further.
During 1986 - 2009 we have continued to expand our Transport Fleet to give us total control of all our deliveries and installations and today we have a fleet that covers small vans for local deliveries through to De-Mountable Boxes for our Lorries which covers large installs as well as maintaining deliveries to all the contracts.
In 2009 we moved our Head Office into Larger premises in Royston, and whilst doing that expanded our Internal / External Sales Teams.
Today the company occupies 2 premises; our Head Office in which our Seating Manufacturing Plant / Finishing Plant as well as the Warehouse / Dispatch which carries a finished stock in excess of £2.5 millions is based And our second premises which is 10 minutes away has our Board Processing Plant where all the products are produced from Raw materials.
